I got carried away

Everyone loves looking at old photos. Here are a few of me, over the years:

I look like I should be advertising muffins in this picture. In fact, this was during my brief stint at Betty Crocker during the fifties.

I gained a few pounds during my career in the baked goods industry and therefore looked for a new line of work.

I think this picture turned out the best.

In the eighties, I discovered hair gel.

In the nineties, I discovered hairspray and always hoped to beat Brita in her own "biggest bangs" contests. What was the record again? Five inches?

Another hair discovery in the nineties: bleach.

so good, or no good?

  1. homemade Christmas gifts
  2. not being challenged in your job
  3. not obtaining music in any way (just listening)
  4. curried squash soup
  5. purchasing a Halloween costume (as opposed to making one)
...your thoughts?

a friend you can eat

You better believe this is my kind of website. I already signed up for my free Swedish Fish T-shirt! I considered hiding this information from the public, as the coolness of the T-shirt would be diminished by any of my friends owning the same shirt, but hey...why not spread the love?

I hope it is adult small, and not kids small...

I happen to know it's asinine

pieces of today:
  • watched this in church
I normally don't like cartoons, but I laughed a lot - sometimes just at the fact that we were watching GodTube.
  • also in church, sat in front of the whisperers
This couple holds 5-minute-long conversations under their breath while someone is preaching. Just because you are quiet does not mean you are not distracting. I did the slight head turn to hint at the fact that everyone could hear them, but to no avail. The whisperers don't care. If it happens again, I'll do the full head turn and maybe even a polite request. Also, the lady whisperer's cell phone went off, and she left the sanctuary to answer it. Coming back in, she said, "That was so embarrassing. My phone never rings!" Hmm...maybe you should try turning it off; then it would actually never ring.
  • made a shirt out of a scarf
Sundays used to be my 'go to work and stress out' days. Perhaps this year, they can be my 'creative outlet' days. Woohoo! The shirt didn't work out perfectly, but next time I will know how to do it better.
  • playing 'What Not to Wear' everywhere I go
You may be familiar with my latest obsession. WNTW is practically always airing on TLC, so I watch it a lot. I am addicted and now view the world through the lenses of Stacy and Clinton's style rules. I am constantly thinking, "Wow, that lady should get a shirt that doesn't hug her so tightly, but rather an empire-waisted v-neck shirt that flows away from the tummy, in a pattern with saturated colors." My virtual makeovers are a constant source of entertainment...for me.

bee kid stings again

At school, one child was working on a puzzle, which was pretty difficult. Midway through his attempt, he put the puzzle down and began to pray.

bee kid: Dear God, please help me with this puzzle.
teacher: Why are you asking God to help you?
bee kid: Because God is always with me.

Bee Kid and Other Girl start talking about how God is everywhere, but he's invisible, and he's really fast. This led to the kids creating 'God catchers' (read: stamped paper bags attached to pipe cleaners) and running down the hall near our classroom, God catchers raised high above their heads. My director thought it was funny, so she let them.

At the end of the day, Bee Kid asked the other teacher, "Can God catching be available again tomorrow?"
